Summer Smoothie Recipe

This is my newest summer smoothie - it has become my favorite!

It is so hot outside, and as always, I am having a hard time getting enough protein. I have started making a smoothie every day and thought I would share my new favorite go-to smoothie. I am not sure if this is a good name, but I am trying to use up what I have in the freezer and have come up with some concoctions. So far they are pretty darn good and nutritious. I added collagen for a little extra protein and boost for my hair, skin, and nails in addition to my protein powder. (Look back and read the blog post on collagen) I will share a few more as the summer goes on.

Next time you are in the mood for a little something cold, try out this smoothie. It will be a hit. My husband even liked it!

Mango Berry Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 cup Almond milk

2 scoops of protein powder

2 scoops of collagen powder

1 cup of frozen mango

1 cup frozen mixed berries

1 cup of ice

2 teaspoons of maple syrup (if you like really sweet smoothies, I have made mine without this ingredient the last few times!)

Throw this in your blender, and it comes out beautifully. I have had it for lunch and am not hungry until dinner. How crazy! The healthy carbs combined with a hearty serving of protein might have something to do with it. You guys enjoy it!
