Recipe - Autumn Infused Water
As it starts getting colder, I have a hard time making myself drink water. I think of all the habits I am trying to build on, it is one of my weaker. I am trying to find new ways to make myself drink water consistently. I have found not only do I feel better, but I eat smarter.
Sometimes when you think you are hungry you are actually just thirsty. Give it a try! A good general formula is to take your weight in pounds and divide it by two. That is the number of ounces you should minimally take in each day. It may seem like a lot at first, but I think just being aware of how much you need to take in can help you find ways to sneak it in throughout the day!
One of the drawbacks is: I get bored with just plain water. I found this recipe on a blog and have been making it a couple of times a week for the fall. It is so good - my husband has even been drinking it! This recipe is simply a combination of water, fall fruits, and cinnamon sticks. It is incredibly easy to make.
Autumn Infused Water
Ingredients
1 apple (sliced thin)
1 plum (sliced thin)
1 pear (sliced thin)
2-3 cinnamon sticks
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a pitcher with ice water. Keep in the refrigerator, and continue to add more water as needed. Infused water will last a couple of days.
Notes This makes one large pitcher.
It really tastes great! I have been filling up my water bottle daily then putting more water in the pitcher to keep it going. Try this one out for yourself!
